Intro to Enameled Jewelry

  • Inventor Center 118 Shelby St Kingsport (map)

Learn the basics of glass enameling in this intro workshop with Linore Huss!

What is enameling?

We will learn all about the process in this workshop; enameled jewelry is metal coated with very fine glass dust, which is then fired in a kiln to melt it and bind it to the surface of the metal.

All students will have their choice of pre-cut metal prepared by the instructor, and then will learn how to clean the metal, sift their enamel onto the piece, and fire it in the kiln! You will walk away with a completed piece of jewelry using the colors of your choice.

This may sound complicated, and we definitely recommend bringing a notebook, but this is a beginner-friendly workshop!
