Creating Your Artist Bio (Promote Yourself: Supper Seminars)

  • Inventor Center 118 Shelby Street Kingsport, TN, 37660 United States (map)

Enjoy some snacks and join artist Linore Huss in this free workshop where you will write and edit your own artist bio!

We have found that those who are new to selling their work have never had to write a professional artist bio. It is critical, however, for selling your work, applying to shows which increase credibility, and especially for teaching classes and workshops.

An artist bio tells the world where you draw inspiration from, what you are passionate about, and how you relate to people through your art. It is one of the best ways to connect with your customer. Attendees will learn what typically goes into an artist bio, discuss several examples, and then write their own bios followed by a group critique to make corrections and improvements.

We will have snacks and drinks available--please bring a laptop or notebook!

This workshop operates with support from Launch Tennessee--it is part of our "Promote Yourself" program. Our goal is to offer free programming for local entrepreneurs, including makers and artists who are selling and promoting their work, to help them grow their business and skill set. We hope to see you there!
